
Continuing her methodology of combining contemporary and pre-modern materials, or manmade and natural materials, Wang combines mass-produced wooden shelves with found driftwood pieces to create sculptural works. Both are found materials but carry wholly different meanings and are acquired through entirely different processes. These sculptures consider the reality of living in New York City, the constructed landscape seems impenetrable yet facets of the natural manage to infiltrate the angular and controlled environment.
