Newspaper Sculpture

Beginning with "Entanglement," these newspaper sculptures take the semi two-dimensional Microcosm series to a fully three-dimensional place. Each newspaper strand is like a brushstroke and behaves similarly in space and time. The sculptures give form and physical structure to the hidden layers of ink marks within a painting. Each sculpture considers an object from the scholar's studio, such as a scholar's rock or a brush rest, reinterprets these traditional objects, and transforms them into alien entities and landscapes existing in a strange, omnicultural, future realm.
